Akoue is a library and player for your own audiobook collection on iPhone and iPad: it turns folders of MP3s into a library and keeps it in the user’s own iCloud.
Akoue is for people who already own their audiobooks. Folders of MP3s, M4B files and archives become books with authors, series, narrators and chapters; garbled titles are repaired in one tap. The player is built for books: one continuous position, a sleep timer, a smart rewind. The library lives in the user’s own iCloud; the app never touches any other network and collects no data. Free; Pro is a one-time purchase or a yearly plan.
Akoue is a library and player for a personal audiobook collection on iPhone and iPad. It solves what the built-in tools do not: a folder of MP3s lands in Apple Books as a music album and loses its position, titles from old encodings are unreadable, and a 200 GB library does not fit on a phone. Akoue assembles folders into books with authors, series, narrators and chapters, repairs encodings with a preview, and finds books even when typed in the wrong keyboard layout. The player is built for books: a hundred files play as one, the sleep timer counts listening time, the next volume starts by itself. Pro adds offloading books to the user’s own iCloud Drive with playback while downloading, sync between devices, silence skipping and volume leveling. The app touches no network but iCloud, collects no data and sells no books. The free version has no limits; Pro is a one-time purchase or a yearly plan, with Family Sharing either way.

The mark and the colours
The mark is the segmented progress bar from the app itself: the segments behind you glow in the accent colour, the ones ahead stay muted. It speaks not of “sound in general” but of progress through a book. The columns are centred, so the shape reads as a waveform rather than a bar chart. No gradients, no depth, no shadows: the mark has to survive single-colour printing and shrinking to 40 pixels.

The colours are not invented: they are taken from the Terminal theme in the app’s code. The first column is for a dark background, the second for a light one. The lockup is set in IBM Plex Mono.
